Online self-help courses




The CFIDS & Fibromyalgia Self-Help Program runs a number of low-cost online courses for people with ME/CFS and Fibromyalgia.

Introductory Course

The “Introductory Course” is a seven-week class that teaches practical skills for coping with and managing CFS and Fibromyalgia. Offered quarterly and conducted via email, the class is a structured discussion group led by trained volunteer moderators, all of whom have CFS and/or FM. The course fee is only $30 and this includes a copy of the book Managing Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia: A Seven-Part Plan.

Topics include:

  • Managing fatigue, pain, sleep and cognitive problems
  • Pacing
  • Achieving short-term goals
  • Managing stress
  • Managing feelings such as worry, frustration, depression and loss
  • Improving relationships and building support

Treating CFS/FM Self-Study Course

This course, developed jointly with CFS/FM authority Dr. Charles Lapp, helps patients develop an individualized treatment plan for CFS or FM.

The course includes modules on treating symptoms, pacing, stress, emotions, relationships and building a new life. Each module includes worksheets and steps for implementation.

The course is free and no registration is required. You start when you want and proceed at your own speed. There are no prerequisites to start the course.
